Default LC and Hysterectomy

Ladies that had a hysterectomy- did you find it more challenging to lose weight after? Any tips? Please tell me a little about how your weight loss has gone and how you have felt on LC. Have you had to adjust the way you eat LC in any way?

I had mine on 12-11-17 and am ready to get back to eating healthy again. I was lucky and didn't gain any weight after surgery. But it was complicated and healing has been a very long challenge with set backs. I have only had the energy to be on my feet and start cooking over the last week.

Thank you!

I kept my ovaries, but they have yet to 'wake up' from surgery. They won't even consider putting me on HRT until I hit the 6 month point.

I am currently taking black cohash for night sweats and hot flashes. My emotions seem right at the surface, I am hoping that goes away soon too.

why do you ask?

Both may slow weight loss.
Or aka "increase metabolic resistance" , almost any hormone med according to Jackie Eberstein. On this list http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=453311
I spoke with her personally when I was on Tamoxifen.

In Dr Westman's new talk on DietDoctor, he also mentions weight loss is slower/harder the older you are, the less active, and for women, the farther into menopause. https://www.dietdoctor.com/day-low-carb-clinic

So nothing to do about age ...but add more activity, be strict about carbs and calories (Jackie suggested cutting out all nuts, wine and cheese, limit added fats)

Personally I am not a fan of HRT, and wishing you good results from natural treatment, or the shortest course of the lowest dose, to get through the transition.

I only lost one ovary, but I don’t think the system ever came back online. I had to figure out hormones and take them to function.

Along the way, I discovered that doctors give the artificial forms. These are the ones which cause the scary side effects. If you do decide on HRT, insist on bio-identical.

Both my ovaries were removed to prevent cancer.

I didnt realize success on LC until after the surgery, though I have been on and off LC since 2000.

IMO let your body heal. Perhaps reach out to Dr christiane northrip via Facebook.

I wish I had never had genetic testing. I wish I had never had my ovaries removed. Life has been miserable with out the ovaries as HRT is not forthcoming because of cancer risks. I did all this surgery to avoid the scurge of cancer treat ment.... joke on me.

Good luck. Be patient. You will find solutions to make life bearable.

Who is Christiane? And when I reach out to her what do you suggest I ask?

Alternate medicine doctor, specialist for woman. Authored many books (most are in our library) but also there is a video right on her home page now about hysterectomy. https://www.drnorthrup.com
