Default Too Few Calories??

Hi Everybody,

Because I'm vegetarian (no meat, but yes dairy) I am currently getting all my calories from eggs (~3-4 per day), cheese (~3-4 oz. per day), and salads w/ tofu (~4 cups per day). I know I'm getting enough protein and vitamins and everything else, and I eat to my fill. I can't eat anything more, I just feel sick! I also know that none of these things, cheese exempt, is very calorie-full. I know that when you drop below a certain calorie threshold the body goes into starvation mode-and I don't want that to happen!! What else can I eat/substitute to up my calories without going over my limit of 20-25 carbs per day?

Thanks for all your help!

Why not add some healthy fats like a splash of olive oil and some flaxseed? Nothing ups calories like oil!

Default Double cream

I've been having no suger strawberry jelly with double ceam and a few raspberries. That should "up" the calories.

Getting too few calories has been my concern also and that's why I tend to look for the highest calorie cheese and salad dressing (low carb, of course).
My favourites are bluecheese and bluecheese dressing, but you can find so many different kinds of cheeses if you are willing to explore the shelves!

Cream cheese is another good way to add calories, I use it as a dip for celery and it's delicious

Hi,
Just a few suggestions avocadoes, olives, more oils (coconut oil is wonderful in a cup of hot tea, this got me over the cravings for sweets).
I hope this helps.

Annie
