Think I have finally found the answer....
Hello everyone! My name is Lesley and I am so glad I found this board. I have been lurking for a while and decided to come out of my shell and say Hello and get involved.
For the last few months I have been reading lots of material on the low carb way of life after trying and failing many diets over the years. Even spending an exorbitant amount of money on a personal trainer and nutritionist which barely made a dent in the amount of weight I have to lose. I figured I would just be the funny fat girl for the rest of my probably shortened life.
I began Atkins exactly two weeks ago today and I am down 20.5 pounds. It is exhilarating for me! And though I know this weight loss amount will begin to slow there are so many other things that I have gained from this WOL in such a short period of time. My skin is clearer, I am so much more happier, my energy level is crazy, my back doesn't hurt, and I actually look forward to my evening workouts.
I know I have a lot to lose but I also have a ton of things other than weight to gain and a life that is worth living, not just sitting around and watching other people have fun.
Thanks everyone for offering your stories they are so inspirational and I look forward to getting to know everyone better here.
