Default First Summer in 15 years that I don't gain 10 lbs.

I gain weight every summer, and it's usually 10 pounds or more. I eat more, have way more cocktails, exercise less, go out for dinner more, watch what I eat less...etc. etc.

This was my first Summer since I began low carb last March. True to form I ate more, had way more cocktails, exercised less...you get the picture,... but I sincerely tried to eat no rice, potato, bread, or sugar (cheated a bit a couple of places). I did not deprive myself, let's say. The result: after 2 full months of this, I gained a mere 2 pounds. This time last year (and the year before and the year before,) I clocked in at anywhere from 145 - 148. This year: 132.

I'm so encouraged by this and feel more than ready to straighten out my act and lose those 2 plus another 5 if possible.

This way of eating really works well for me.

I'm happy for you! Good job.

My own "first" is this is the first time I've been able to quit smoking without gaining 30 lbs! I haven't LOST in months, but I didn't gain, either. Now that I'm adjusted to being a non-smoker, I can work on losing again.

That's great!
And, I know just how you feel. I may not have lost any weight over the summer, but this is the first time in at least 15 years that I have not gone in to winter ten pounds heavier. Feels good, doesn't it?

Yeah for this WOE!
