Hey folks, I started this program on January 2, 2007. At that point I thought I weighed 234 pounds, but on weighing myself on the morning of January 2, 2007, I discovered that I'd managed to pack on an additional 11.5 pounds for a total of 245.5. So, that's where I started on January 2. 5'6", 245.5 pounds. Between January 2 and May 4, 2007 I went from 245.5 pounds to 198 pounds; a total loss of 47.5 pounds in 3 months. Now I seem to have hit a wall, but am adding more exercise/activity now that I can move again. I've tried to post some pics, but for some reason can't on this forum. Stay tuned. My goal is to hit 160 pounds.

I am doing Atkins, because that's the easiest plan for me as I am allergic to wheat/oats/rye and barley. Since I also take meds to regulate my insulin production, I have eliminated sugar. I only use splenda and I don't do caffeine.

WoW! Awesome progress Wolcott72! I have been following Atkins since October 2006...its working for me, however much slower than you. i have slipped a few times as well, but have jumped back on. I have lost 41lbs so far...still got a little more than half my weight to lose to reach my goal, but I am pretty determined. Although I slip from time to time, i don't punish myself, i just get right back on track. I like being on track...it makes me feel good. Anyhow...congrats again and keep on going. Looks like we are looking for the same goal weight, but by the looks of it you are gonna get there first..haha.

Default Thanks

Thanks everyone for your encouragement.
Kitty-i think the problem w/my pics is b/c of file size mine are rather large-any help would be greatly appreciated. I am going to try to compress them

food-a-holic--I don't drink Crystal Light b/c I try to avoid aspartame and I'm pretty sure it says to avoid that in the Atkins book. You should check that out to be sure.

What kind of image editing software do you have? I use Photoshop, but most are similar in many ways. Usually if you go into "Image" and then "Size" you can change the dimensions either by pixels, dpi, or both. You want it to be about 72 dpi for internet use, probably no more than 8"x10". If you scale by pixels, 720 x 576 or something in that ball park works. If you can't figure it out or don't have software to edit them, you can email them to me and I'll happily do it for you. PM me for my email addy if you need it. If you need more help than that, let me know what software program you are using, and I will do my best!

Thanks everyone--sorry for long delay in being on here

KiKikitty-thanks for the pic editing info--I do have photoshop at work and can edit things down now that the semester has calmed a bit.

Since that last post I dropped to 190 and then stayed there until I broke my toes/bone in my foot in July. That kicked me out of running for a few weeks. I just about got back on that and managed to herniate two discs in my neck and was back on the sidelines, so I put back on those 8 pounds plus 2 more so am unfortunately back at 200 as of this morning-gag! I just got clearance from my physical therapist to resume running on a limited-instead of daily basis--so between that and strictly following induction I should be able to get back on track-I hope. . .
