Well, my experiments so far put one slice of cheese at about one minute and three slices at about two! Essentially once its lightly browned and crispy, you've got your cracker. (Which goes very nicely with homemade mayo! )

Well worth experimenting with different cheeses too... mozarella, for example, seems to turn a nice caramel flavour!

Hope that helps.

LOL Hun

That was this forum and i believe it is Christine (Pepsi max) we owe the credit too.

Well its a damned fine recipe, I know that much!!! Thank you Christine!

And thank you Ebbie for finally succeeding where my knackered old brain fails and making sure credit went where credit was due!

I swear those things are addictive though...

i think i can,t take credit for the crackers.i,ll have got it from somewhere.parmasan cheese works the best.they go very hard, just like a cracker.
and you can nuke them for quickness.

OH myChristmas pud made out of crisp breads.
Now i fully admit i would CHEAT rather than eat that.
Any how you got to Cheat on xmas day, coz it's xmas day. Am i being really bad saying that?

I didn't plan to cheat on my Birthday, just thought i would prefer to cheat than to upset my friends/childrens feelings after my friends had spent time and money cooking me a cake and my children had spent their pocket money on a cake for me.

Christmas however oh yes i am gonna cheat. There is no way i'm cooking thousands of roast potatoes and not eating any of them, infact i'm not slaving away for hours in the kitchen and not eating some of EVERYTHING.

I know it's going off the thread a little and it's a little time to Christmas yet but what is everyone else thinking? Does anyone plan to play the Saint and not eat anything naughty?

HI Not tried the cheesy things yet [on my list to try] but try sprinkling a few sesame seeds on the cheese before nuking - saw that suggestion somewhere with very good reports. [what about paprika or a bit of onion powder or other herbs] SL

Unfortunately my gym will be closed on Boxing Day, oh i am so sad about that, so will be forced to spread out on the sofa watching the Great Escape or some other film they only dig out at Christmas on the TV
