Default 4th Anniversary on CALP

This weekend is my 4th anniversay on CALP. We are such a small group on this vast LC sea- let alone on this terrific site- that I whought I would post. It's not so I get a lot of congrats- it's so you can see this is possible! And I'm posting for me:to mark this occasion- to give thanks and to celebrate.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Well, tomorrow is my 3rd anniversary on CALP! When I look back, I can't believe it. What an amazing trip it's been! Still OP, still 125, still normal in all my lipids and liver function, still feeling great.
I have been maintaining for almost 2 years. That's when I finally started 'bending' my plan to add in more carbs and here I am today!
I have a total commitment to CALP- that's just the way I eat. I know that it seems crazy to other people. I don't care anymore- not at all. This is what works for me and what my body likes. I can't take responsibility for anyone else- it's hard enough being in charge of me (LOL)! What I've been learning is different at different times. While losing, I learned my body is insulin resistant and to be healthy I need to eat the CALP way. I had to totally change the way I shopped, cooked, ate out and ate. It was a pretty steep learning curve. Planning and reading and thinking of CALP every meal, every day. In maintenance, I'm still learning to trust my body and CALP more, to really take good care of me, and to let my plan bend, but not break. A much slower, gentler kind of learning. This is not something I can go off of, or cheat on, or take a vacation from. This is how I eat. The changes are AMAZING. I feel so good IN my body- and about my body. There is a TDC thread now about can you be happy if you are fat. I was happy before, but I'm much happier now. I always felt something was wrong with my body- but it was just the way I ate that was wrong. LC fixed it, and continues to fix it daily.
Looking forward to my 4th year on CALP!"

That was my post last year- and my 4th year has been great. Still learning and still commited. I LOVE shopping for clothes- I finally have a closet full of things I love- everything looks good. I have my food shopping down too- a fridge full of frozen chicken, turkey, steak, salmon, talapia, ground beef and lamb, and every CM frozen veggie I can find. Cabbage, cauliflower, lettuce, peppers, cukes, asparagus in the crisper. Eggs and eggs and cheese and cream. Olive oil and spices. Sweet potatoes, cereals, fruits, yogurt, and sweets for RM.
Love being IN my body- moving it and using it. Lifting weights and seeing the definition in my arms. Walking for hours with pleasure. Amazing. A hiking trip for my 50th- yes, I'm 50 now and loving it.
Thank you, God, that I found this WOL. Thank you Drs. Heller for my new life. Thanks to everyone on this site who helps support me and shares the ride-
looking forward to YEAR 5!
ENO

You are an inspiration, Eno, that's for sure. I would love to see a picture or two of you.

I love the line that you are only responsible for yourself. I need to remember that when I feel peer pressure to go off plan. I need to take the responsibility for myself and not worry about what others think.

Take care, and Happy 4th Anniversary!

Congratulations Eno! And thanks for sticking around here and helping others. It's so inspiring to those of us still losing to hear from the maintainers!

Here's to a great 5th year for you!
