In a health related RSS feed this morning...an article from Food Network on Foods that Cause Inflammation. OK, let's see what a popular food as entertainment media source says about this.
Started off with white bread and regular soda, good so far. But then added french fries and hotdogs, both for their link between saturated fat, inflammation that leads right directly to heart disease. Then ice cream...will we Ever kill the ARTERY CLOGGING SATURATED FAT (as one word) advice?!
Quote:
Ice Cream
Although full fat dairy can fit into a healthy eating pattern, too much of it can backfire on the body. Full fat ice cream is brimming with artery clogging saturated fat, which is associated with inflammation.

Almost funnier, it was followed by Lard, again BRIMMING with the dreaded SATURATED fat. Really? Who knew? Says it is enjoying something of a revival in foodie world, coming back in style so we needed a warning about it. They may previously have warned about coconut oil but now unsuspecting foodies need to be warned that lard is BRIMMING with saturated fat.
Quote:
Lard Pig fat may be back in style, but it’s also brimming with saturated fat and can lead to inflammation-related disease like heart disease. If you’re jonsing for lard, enjoy it on special occasions but steer clear of consuming it regularly.

I will never get back the time wasted clicking through a slideshow (Hate articles written in slideshows, picture book level!) but a reinforcement never to take Health advice from an RD who works for the food pushing industry.
