Many of us on this site know that whenever anyone says, "I just can't give up [XYZ]" it's a red flag for eventual failure. It might be bread or coffee or wine or cheese or oatmeal. (Funny nobody ever says broccoli--but then, on LC, that's just temporary, right?)
I'm glad that lady had success on Wheat Belly. But then, she had success on every diet she used! The real "secret" for her, as for many of us, is conscientious eating and accountability. Keeping a diary. Teaching a class (!) Telling your story to yourself and others in a way that keeps you on top of it. That's what we do here.
That's what Oprah is trying to do, too. Every diet will work for her. But only the one she stays on forever will work for her forever. That she hasn't learned yet.
Of course, we're convinced that our secret success on LC (or some variation) is the way it releases us from hunger, binging, cravings, and other forms of enslavement to food--including the perpetual job of counting (calories, points, macros, or whatever). With LC eating, daily life can become more simple--even if the science is complicated.
I don't want to go to meetings--let alone pay for my own efforts to keep my weight under control. But I don't dare count up the hours I spend "meeting" ya'll right here. It would be embarrassing. But...it works.
