Red face Constipation - Sorry about this folks !!!!

Hi All

I'm embarassed about this but need some advice - so dont laugh

I've been back on the CAD plan now for 11 days and my BM's have become few and far between - basically they are getting to be non existent.

Now I make sure I get plenty of roughage at my RM's and eat salad at one of my CM's. Today I make it 3 days since my last BM - sorry folks And today I've felt very very tired and sluggish.

Could I be feeling this way do to lack of BM's?

What can I do to make my BM's more regular?

Thank you for any advice given.

*An embarassed Julia*

Dear Tigra,
Sorry to hear about your problem.I've had the same problem and it's no fun.First make sure you are drinking lots of water. What helps me are psyllium husk powder(from the health food store) in 8 ounces of water. It is a colon cleanser.Just make sure you shake it up and drink it right away or it gets very thick and impossible to swallow. Are you eating a lot of cheese ?(that can cause constipation)You might try eating fruit during reward meal.Hope this helps.Maybe others will have other ideas.

Thumbs down I know, .... it's a bummer.

I have also had occaisional problems. Magnesium helps. You're likely already taking a Cal/Mag supplement. Try taking an extra 50mg magnesium tablet before you go to bed. I also take Metamucil; a heaping tablespoon in water before bed. I've tried senna, but the cramps were awful.

I have noticed that just prior to my period I am almost certain to be constipated. Could this be it?

Good luck! Take a book with you!

Janice

I had to take a single laxative every other night for the first 7-10 days. After that I returned to normal. Be prepared for some nasty looking stuff to exit your body in the first few days. eventually things do return to normal and need no "assistance"

Thumbs up

Thanks for the advice folks

I suppose it could be due to a number of things.

1. I am due for TOM to arrive next week.

2. I have'nt drank as much water yesterday as I normally do.

As regards the fruit - I have been having some in my RM - so hopefully they will do the trick shortly lol.

Actually I think posting a new thread works too - straight after I'd finished this thread last night I 'went' lol.

So theres a new concept - POST A THREAD AND 'GO'

Anymore idea's would be gratefully received.

Thanks again everyone

Red face Trying to think of a thread to start!

I'm having the same trouble, Tigra... I appreciated all the suggestions you got. I am thinking of trying a new laxative , I think it is called Benefibre. In the meantime, maybe I'll come up with a great idea for a thread and that will clean me out!

Thumbs up I can vouch for the cabbage soup

It worked really well for this trouble during the time I was having it. I got a little tired of it, so have switched to salads for lunch. I tend to do that, eat the same thing for several days in a row until I can't face it again, then switch to something different. I think it is mostly from laziness.

Default our solution!

When my hsuband was ill and had to take so many heavy pain killers, the doctor suggested something we found at a good health food store. It is in a white bottle, green print and has a colon on it, it is called "Super Colon Cleanse". While it sounds awful, it isn't, will not act as a laxative, will not give you gas or the runs but WILL clean you out with some good soft movements! He was in bad shape so he followed the directions on the bottle, along with lots of water I drink daily, I take about three of the caps at night once a week. Works for me and tends to also make things normal for awhile. This is all herbal.....great stuff and we tried EVERYTHING for him.

Default beans

half of the carbs in beans are fiber. I try to eat beans every day. As a result i go every day. And they keep you filled. I have rm at lunch 12 pm and mt 4 pm, i've gone.......

i think the home cooked kind is the best. Try beans at rm
