Default A Couple of Questions

I just finished the book and probably need to go read some of the details again. But, I found this forum, so I guess I'll just ask. I'm sure the answer is here somewhere, but I don't have the time right now to look! I think it said in the book that diet soda is ok, right? Also, are artificial sweeters ok? IF not, why is it ok to drink diet soda? What about salad dressing? Don't most of them have sugar in them? Thanks so much! I look forward to reading more of the posts later.

the Hellers really discourage the use of all AFs and diet sodas, as some people respond to the sweet taste by releasing insulin.
good luck-

I'm just reading CALP now so I'm not an expert but the info is fresh in my mind

Artificial sweeteners can trigger an insulin response just as real sugar would so that's why they discourage the use of it. You can have some in your coffee in the morning or as part of your Reward Meal (whenever you have it, most people seem to have it for dinner) but not outside of that.

As for salad dressing, they stated in their book that salad dressing is okay as long as it has less than 2g of carbs per serving and as long as sugar is lower than 4th place on the ingredients list on the bottle.

Hope that helped
