Default Hood Juices? Carb count confusion..

Am I not reading this right? The packaging claims 2 carbs per 8 ounce serving.. yet the nutrition label says 4 carbs per 8 ounce serving.. with no fiber or SA to subtract??

4beans - You posted before I did. I purchased the orange one last night and upon reading the actual label noticed the same thing? Hum....

Have you actually tried it yet? The orange is pretty good. I actually like it better than the Crystal Light Orange drink. I'm not a huge OJ fan though, but thought it would be nice for something different every now and then.

Still confused on the carb count though.

When there's a problem with inconsistent labeling, I would call the company directly - most of them have a toll-free 800 number listed on the label - and see what they say.

If you do call, report back what you find!

It has something to do with glycogen (or another similar word LoL), I think. I'll check on my label and get back to you guys in alil while though.

Maybe it was "glycerine"? That's not a fiber, nor is it a sugar alcohol, but if memory serves, it's used to add texture and sweet taste to things....

I think they were claiming one of those "tricks", kind of like with yogurt -- you get to subtract part of the carb count for some unusual reason. Look near the carb count to read a better description than I can remember.

HTH!

Well sorry it took so long for me to get it! I did check my container tonight. It said (paraphrasing):

"Only count 2g carbs per serving as the other 2g carbs comes from organic acids (juice concentrate) and has a minimal impact on blood sugar."

I still think the juices are a good idea though. Especially if you're one of the wierdoes out there (like me LoL) craving fruit. The lemonade, imo, is very strong though so I always add about 2-3tbsp of water to it then it comes out perfect =)

Thanks astro. I did notice in the ingredients juice concentrate. It also has a "pulp" or something that makes it taste more like real OJ than an orange drink.

I bought some for the first time and I liked it. It's wwaaaayyy too sweet for me, tho, so I water it down 50/50. Tastes like Sunny D to me and I was hoping it would taste more like real orange juice.

That's it, Nicole. I was trying to figure out what it reminded me of - Sunny D (which I really have never been fond of). I did water mine down too.
