Default LC shopping in Ottawa ???

I have a friend going to Ottawa later in the week and I was hoping to send her LC shopping for me. Can any one give me a couple of names (and addresses) of shops where I'm likely to find Carbquik, Thicken Thin Not Starch, LC pudding, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Margie

Margie,
Toronto has much more to choose from but here goes ...

The Loblaws at Woodroofe and Baseline carries Walden farms toppings (0 carb, 0 calorie) at $4.19/bottle in the Koshjer section.

GNC (the one only 3 blocks up from parliment hill) has discounted products that change weekly since they are dropping much of the low carb foods. They carry ThicknThin, etc..
General Nutrition Centre
613-569-3555
160 Bank Street,
Ottawa, ON K1P 5N8

Although you would have to pay shipping where you are, Low Carb Depot has product well below regular price. You would save more than the shipping or you can have it shipped to someone with a postal code in a big center in Ontario for free. http://www.lowcarbfooddepot.com
They have low carb bread mix slightly outdated for $1.95 that I have about once a month to remember what yeasty bread tastes and smells like.
They also carry Davinci Syrups at $11.95 and all sorts of other things that remind you of your previous (pre LC) life.
"Carbsense - "MiniCarb" Bread Machine Mix Country White" (CS323) $1.95
"Miracle Sweet - White Sugar Alternative 227g size" (MS333) $7.95
"Carbsense - "MiniCarb" Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips" (CS494) $4.95

If they are driving they could pick up some of the canned foods in Chinatown like Bamboo Shoots and although you end up not using them a lot they offer a change in food texture.

The above being said dollar for dollar it is hard to beat the Low Carb Food Depot on prices and selection.

Thanks very much for your reply. I know she was heading for bank street. So I'll ask her to keep an eye out.

Hi,

Thanks Ottawa. I ordered Davinci syrups and made a trip to Loblaws.

Glad to be of help.

Good Luck on program.

One other option on Sweet is http://www.sweetzfree.com/orderpaypal1.html.
ALthough it is expensive it lasts a long time. The 4 oz bottle is equivalent to 96 cups of sugar. If you do LC baking and are on a strict carb limit like Protein Power or Atkins, it provides real value.
