Default introduction

Hi. I just wanted to say hi to everyone. I have been on Atkins for 1 week now and have lost 5 pounds. This board is very informative and I really like it.
The only thing I have a problem with is in the evening when everyone has a snack. Any suggestions. I have thried the pork rind chips and I don't like those.

Welcome to the forum, Deb Well done on those 5lbs, you're looking good; bet you're feeling better too.

I have a question: when the evening rolls around and everyone is snacking, are you hungry? Or do you just want food because everyone else is? I have found out lately that was my case, eating out of habit and because my boyfriend had to have something. If you do indeed want a low carb treat in the evenings there are a few things you can try. I used to take pepperoni or genoa salami and spread cream cheese on it, roll them up and voila... yum E. I would also mix a bit of cocoa with splenda and some whipping cream to make a chocolate mousse. When you're past induction many LC like SF jello with whipped cream.

If you take a peak under "Low Carb Tips" there's an article by Karen on "Jazzing up your Induction" Many good ideas there.

Best of luck to you
Nat

Default i finally tried it!!

finally, after having no idea of what it even was, i did a search yesterday on the 'mock danish' i have heard so much about. i checked out many lo-carb sites for it and printed off different variations of it and tried the one that i thought i would like best last night.......omg! it was soooo goooood!!

anyway, that's my new favourite snack for tv watchin' time at night.

thanks, nat, for bringing it up here originally! now the chips and high carb stuff that my partner eats won't be nearly so tempting.
