Jandy,

Glad you had a good day yesterday and are feeling better. I can relate very well to what you were describing, though the reason I felt that way was different.

I hope folks understand that my sharing my success is to show after years of not being able to get on plan and stay there to maintenance, I cracked the code for me. Each person will get there differently, because CALP and CAD can be tweeked individually (not off the main tenets of course).

I am joyous, because I was heading to dying. Period. I hope it doesn't offend.

Still dealing with slight upticks today, but today is better than yesterday. My weight this morning is 183.9, and my unconventional breakfast today was 2 oz. (raw wt.) cod panfried in 1/2 tsp. butter with homemade creole seasoning, 1/2 cup leftover boiled Summer Squash (a friend gifted us with several), and 1/2 tsp. fresh lemon juice. 1 oz. half and half in my coffee.

Not sure yet what I'll do for lunch cm or rm dinner.

hi-

sounds great, Pat. And thank you for explaining your posts.

I went out to dinner last night- and after the appetizer of chicken wings I decided to just order a side salad for dinner- I made a good decision. DH had salmon, pasta with sauce, and a beer with his wings. I had a couple of gulps (being honest!) of his beer.

Tonight it's the final clean out dinner. I'm having a salad, leftover burger and bun, broccoli. DH is having a turkey sausage patty, pasta, bun, salad and broccoli. Probably ice cream too.

I'm heading out to a family wedding and a week at DDs. I am bringing nuts and Quest bars as emergency supplies. We will have water and coffee in the room, and I will have a car to get out of the hotel. I have been doing this long enough to know I will not be able to have the carbage they will provide for breakfast, so I will plan on leaving and finding someplace to get eggs.

I will be back in the middle of September-
have a GREAT Labor Day weekend.

Later-
E

Have a nice trip Eno!

My RM today was a little weird.
half a burger with half a bun
one tuna patty made with beans and bread crumbs
salad with dressing

Almost time for a grocery run so food is getting low. I have had to be creative.

So happy to finally see a daily weight less than last weeks average. Not sure what is going to happen by next Monday when I do my averaging.

But for today, it's a sub 183 - 182.9.

Yesterday's RM was Chicken Lazone, potatoes, broccoli, tea

I got the chicken recipe here:
http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/chicken_lazone.html

It was okay. I didn't have chili powder so I used paprika. My husband didn't care for it that much.

Very happy to see a 182.4 this morning - just one tenth above my most recent one day low.

Making lamb shanks today for RM - have to clear out the freezer and these have languished there for months with me unsure of how to make them. I've looked at a batch of recipes and am coming up with my own. If it goes well, I'll post the recipe to my blog.

Found a low carb gluten free recipe to try as part of my rm this weekend - fried green tomato blt salad. If it comes out well, will post a link to the recipe.

For Labor Day RM, thought folks might not be familiar with the chicken recipe I am making - Cornell Chicken - which is easy and inexpensive and cm. Here is a link to the recipe for this easy sauce for grilled chicken: (I use the proportions given for 5 pounds of chicken).Cornell Chicken

Hi Patricia, Jandy, Eno, and others (?). I am still lurking around and messing with my plan (mostly low carb but with several days of CAD style eating each week). I had traveled this summer to visit family in FL and was worried about staying LC. I planned to do CAD so I could eat out and still enjoy myself. I did well the first two weeks but as time went on, so did my rationalizations and temptations. I ended up extending my stay another few weeks for a total of two months (due to my father having major surgery complications). Eating out almost every meal and at hospital cafe means I put on 9 lbs. Yikes!

I have been back home and basically on track for a week and am already down 3 lbs. 161 this morning. I am trying not to beat myself up too much and just get back on and do what I need to do. I was 150 in May so I am a bit irritated with myself since it is a lot harder to take off than put on! Still, I know what works for me and I can do it.

Patricia, you continue to do an amazing job! You are so close to your next goal! And maybe E will post once in a while on her trip...

Ccotta,

Welcome back! I think the most important thing is you are back on track. I know for me, learning how to make this a rest of my life way of eating has taken quite some time, but it's worth it to keep at it.

Very happy with how food went yesterday. Wish I didn't have a slight swing up today - 184.3, but that will go I know
