Unhappy plant-based Fake eggs.

Yet more processed slop.

Founders Fund, the firm founded by Peter Thiel and other PayPal executives, famously declared that it wants to back companies with big, ambitious visions (not just dinky web startups). And that description certainly fits Hampton Creek Foods, a startup that wants to move the world from animal-based foods by creating alternatives that are genuinely tastier, healthier, and cheaper.

Translation: Cheaper so we can maximize our profits while pushing our vegetarian agenda.

I wonder if it'll be possible to cook these tastier alternatives sunny side up, with the yolks still runny. :P

Hahaha...Even after all these years, the pro-vegan agenda fake foods still crack me up!

Fake eggs, fake meat and fake cheese!

I went to the company's website to see what was in it, but they didn't have a typical nutrition label or even a complete ingredients list, just a mention that it "includes" canola oil and a couple of other things processed from plants.

Yup,the cheapest and worse crap they can dig up will be in it and then they will slap a heart healthy symbol on it to further deceive the masses. What low life!

What I'd like to see is all the animal-based industries get a great deal more focus for humane conditions and good feeding. At this point I feel like the cheap meat and hormone and carageenan-filled dairy and GMO fertilizer pesticide produce which are what I can get at walmart (and if you live near a walmart you know that once it's there, there won't be much else around for long as an option), probably does my liver as much detox work as a box of crappy mac&cheese.

The vegan 'political agenda' gets a great deal of leverage from what are genuinely problem situations in the major animal-food industries. If beef meant happy cows grazing and then a Temple Grandin ending, a lot fewer people would feel the need to see those industries as evil.

Just one more reason for me to thank my hens profusely every morning when I collect the eggs.

Last week my friend's son and his girlfriend were visiting. He's pretty much vegan and she's vegetarian. I made the observation that nobody ever tries to make beans out of meat. Sort of fell flat.

Made me laugh

But what upsets me the most is that vegan is now "what to do" about factory farming! People express a concern, and the answer is "Go vegan!"

There's so many things wrong with that it's not funny. And it takes some of the impetus out of humane farming. Grrr.

This made me smile. I think this sort of thing constantly when I see soy bacon etc. If you are going to eat vegetables fine that's great but if you really think that is the way to go why do you need to fool your body into thinking it is something else in order to enjoy it. Food masquerading as something it is not is part of what got us all into this carb nightmare in the first place. If we could all appreciate natural foods for what they are maybe we never would have created the insulin problems we are all facing in the modern world.
