Question Question

The CAD says to have two low-carb meals and then the reward meal. What exactly does "low-carb" mean in numbers?

Just eat according to the approved foods list, it doesn't have you count carbs. I think there is a list in one of these threads if you don't have the book.

hi-
the books are all old.
There is no carb counting- just eating from the CM list of foods.
There are some newer books- CALP, CAHHP, Stress Eating Cure.
Basically if it has carbs don't eat it . Save it for your RM.

Ok ty, I didn't want to buy more books - it costs a lot to maintain this diet for me. However it is working, I lost another 1lb today so I'll stick to it for sure

Hi,
Congrats on the 1kg down! I just joined this site and on day 2 of CAD. I have the 1993 edition of the CAD book, and somewhere in it they advise only 4 carbs per item in the CM. so I assume that if two items have 4 that means 8 for the meal, for example? I was wondering too how high to allow per meal. I log all my food on My Fitness Pal to see the carbs. Also I wonder if these are net carbs? Any advice is welcome!
Weighed in at .3 of a kilogram lower this morning, day 2! Yay. I've been stalled for a month.
I live in Tokyo, but am Canadian.

hi-
that is a common misperception about the plan. The CMs are supposed to be just veggies and protein. As long as it is on the CM lists you don't have to weigh, measure or count.

Hi Enomarb, yep, I guess if the weight loss stops, that means too many carbs in my CM! Doing ok today, but felt empty after my afternoon workout. Coffee with coconut oil fixed that! now I am revved again.

or too much food/too many carbs/ not balanced / over the hour/ in RM or carbs outside of RM.
For me too much sugar and alcohol - even when allowed- slowed or stopped my weight loss.
