Default Arcus senilis...should I worry?

I had my yearly optometry appointment a couple of weeks ago. My eyes are fine, but the optometrist says I have a condition called "Arcus senilis" in which there are cholesterol despoits in the cornea of my eyes. She said if I was 90 she wouldn't think anything of it, but I'm only 45, and it's weird to see that at such an age. She suggested I get a blood test done for cholesterol levels. The arcus senilis, by the way, does not affect vision in any way.

Does anyone have experience with this? Should I worry? From what I've gleaned from this site cholesterol numbers are practically meaningless in terms of health outcomes. Thank you in advance!

If you do get a cholesterol test read up on the right tests to get. Davis (heart scan blog) is good on this and many other sites. http://www.naturopath.co.nz/Article...lood+Tests.html A1c is a good test to get.

My various eye doctors have always commented on my lack of any deposits as a good sign, but then they always cover themselves and say something like it's not really indicative.
