Meat and dairy products plus resistance training increases muscle in older adults
Just happened to find this rather technical article whilst surfing.
As far as I can gather from a cursory read, it boils down to this: people who eat meat and dairy products containing conjugated linoleic acid will improve their muscle mass after resistance training.
In the study, the participants were given supplements. The real thing can be found in real food, such as meat and dairy products.
Just another reason for me to keep up low-carbing combined with my home workouts! So glad I bought those bands and tubes and dumbbells!
