Question Why Do I Listen???

I did CAD about 10 years ago and lost from 260's to around 200 and have teetered between 200-220 during this time. Got as high as 230 after a car wreck but now I am around 210. So I have started back but am now doing CALP and here is my problem.

I do great on this and feel better. My face doesn't feel as bloated and I don't have cravings but I wind up listening to all these other people saying "eat 5-6 small meals" and so I quit and start that for a few days only to realize...UGH...I need to do CALP and I won't have these cravings!!! Why do I listen to the 'hype'?! It frustrates me...does this happen to anyone else. I am back on CALP...AGAIN...and vow to NOT buy into this anymore!

BTW...I really do love all of your posts...I should start posting more on the hour power thread. So much support here and that is hard to find sometimes.

Thanks
Beth

hi Beth

I did CAD for awhile also. I loved it. and like you I got swayed by all the talk about strickeder LC WOE. I was sure that the CAD WOE had gone by the waste side. Glad to find someone who is still on it and doing well. You help me make up my mind to back on CAD and really give it another try. I hope we can stay in contact and support each other

hi Beth-
it is hard to trust ourselves when we are bombarded with the 'facts' that we are wrong. I just hold on tight to the way I feel/my health/ and go for it! Welcome back to CALP!

BTW Deb-
what is EFGT????

EFGT is Eat Fat Get Thin by Barry Groves. It sounded good but like Atkins it was too stricked. You were suppose to eat lots of fat, while keeping your protein and carbs at a certain percent. I felt that I should be eating a butter stick for a snack.

This is my first post but couldn't resist. I found CAD when the book was first published and followed the Hellers ever since. I have been talked off the program too. I think I am finally convinced nothing else cures the compulsive eating!!! End of story.
