Default Starting a weight training routine

I'm just starting a weight training routine, to burn fat mainly, and improve the strengh of my arms (keen bass player here ). I don't want to get buff or develop bulging muscles, so i purchased some small weights to do high reps.

Trouble is, i don't know if the weights are TOO small. They are two 2.27kg dumbells. I can probably do around 100 reps with these, and somehow i think it's wrong. Should i buy some bigger weights, or are the current ones ok? Maybe i could benefit from a program or something.

Any advice is appriciated!

If you can do 100 reps, I think you should definitely buy some larger weights. Usually, I do 15 reps max. with a selected weight. Weighttraining is great though to keep fit and define muscles!!
