Default Quit date is Monday the 8th, care to join?

Hey everyone!

I've been smoking off and on since age 14. I've smoked steadily for the last 7 years, I've tried to quit once. I'm starting Monday, January 8th, with the help of the patch. I'm also going to read Allen Carrs book this weekend. It can't hurt, thats for sure!! If anybody wants to join me, that would be great Hope to hear from some of you out there soon!!

I'm 14 months into my quit but wanted to add that another website that you may find helpful (especially for support and tons of information) is www.whyquit.com
I wish you much success with your quit!

Default I want to quit!

Sublime---I just ordered the patches but won't be here for two weeks. My set quit date is the 18th. I'm really, really nervous about it. But I'm goona give it a try. I hope it doesn't effect me with my diet. Like make me have food cravings etc. What do you think? I'm sure you are l/cing too ? Maybe we can support each other...

I quit 2 days ago, so I'm right ahead of you all. I will be here for you if you need me.

I won't lie, this is hard right now. (I am a 20 year smoker!) I am working VERY diligently to keep my hands and mind busy, busy, busy! Everyone says that after 72 hours the physical stuff is over, just the mental dependency remains. I know I can do this -- we all can.

Hugs,
Courtney

I quit cold turkey 16 days ago!!! Smoked for 20 years!! This has been the hardest thing I've ever done in my life But, WHYQUIT.COM will get you through it!!! It's the ONLY information place that made me truely believe that I could quit!! I NEVER EVEN QUIT FOR ONE WHOLE DAY IN MY LIFE BEFORE THIS!! Education is the KEY to making change in our lives!!! Just like when we educated ourselves about weight and how to lose it!!

IT GETS BETTER EVERYDAY I haven't cried for 3 days!!!!

WE ARE STRONGER THEN THE DRUG ADDICTS WE HAVE/HAD BECOME!!!

Hallo,

I don't know how I happened across this thread, but I did.

Anyway, a friend of mine who quit smoking last year said that these things helped her tremendously by giving her mouth and hands something to do:
PAIPO
They're little...inhalers, from Japan.
Just thought I'd toss that out there.

And good luck to you! (^_^)

Hey ya'll!!! Sounds like you're all doing well!! I start tomorrow, and I decided to start without the patch to see if I could just get the withdrawl symptoms over with. If you see me in the paper for assault you'll know it didn't go so well I'll check back in tomorrow, see how you all are and let you know how I'm doing. Glad I have some partners in crime

Default Still smoke free?

Just wanted to check and see how oyu guys are doing....I started on my patches today. I put it on at 6:00 am and it's about 1:30 now and haven't even really wanted to smoke. It's really incredible. I know it's the patches. I don't think I could do it w/out them. No headaches, not nervous, not hungry, none of that stuff so far. Let me know how you guys are doing and I'll keep you posted.
