Hi All,

Just introducing myself, I am a 48 yr old man who is back on the Atkins Diet after putting all the weight on after my last diet.

I am currently 15st 1lb after losing 6lbs since Monday (6 Days)

Any Helps, Tips and Advice to keep the weight off would be great - Oh and any Carb Free Bread links !!

I was on the Atkins last year for circa 3 months and lost 2.5 stone, but put it all back on after holiday. Although it took 6 months.

Want to keep it off this time and keep healthy...

Matt

Welcome Matt,

We should be asking you for tips! You already have successfully lost weight.

Even when I was not low carbing, bread was not a must have item. I am a sugar addict. Is bread a trigger for you? Any chance you could just cut it out altogether? Maybe try to train your brain not to want bread? Something to think about.

I am doing Atkin's Induction until I reach my first mini goal. 12 weeks down and about 60% of weight reduction done. I am following this plan since I basically have no will power and have an "all or nothing" mentality.

Good luck to you.

Check in often.

Kathy

It might be helpful to learn whether you're an Abstainer or a Moderator.

You’re a moderator if you…
– find that occasional indulgence heightens your pleasure–and strengthens your resolve
– get panicky at the thought of “never” getting or doing something

You’re an abstainer if you…
– have trouble stopping something once you’ve started
– aren’t tempted by things that you’ve decided are off-limits

Welcome, YoungMa. You've found a good place to hang out.

My best tip: Don't try to recreate your carbohydrate life with substitutes. You'll just perpetuate hunger for the "real stuff" you'll be leaving behind.

Learn new likes, new menus, new ways of eating. That's pretty easy to do when you can eat stuff like steak, butter, bacon, and tuna salad with actual mayonnaise.

Best wishes.
