Default Fenugreek?

Has anyone on this forum taken Fenugreek for blood sugar control? I am on Gymnema Sylvestre currently and my endo suggested I take cinnamon also. Had GI problems as soon as I started (reason I got off Metformin)-really would like to control diabetes more naturally-thought I would give Fenugreek or Chrominum a try-would appreciate any input!

I am not diabetic, but I had horrible blood sugar control problems before I discovered low-carbing. I haven't tried fenugreek for my blood sugar, but something I found useful is garlic - I started to incorporate a clove into every meal - even breakfast - and it seemed to help me. Some people don't find it effective, so I guess you'd just need to try it. Another thing which has helped me to control my blood sugar better is totally cutting out caffeine.

I've been low-carbing for about four years now, and I don't have any problems with my blood sugar at all, so hang on in there with the diet. I haven't always been strict, but just alternating strict low-carbing with moderate carbs has been enough to turn my situation around.

Jimmy Moore found a product which lowered his blood sugar, so if yours is generally high, then you might want to check out his blog entries about it. It was called "Glycosolve".

I've tried chromium, but I never remember to take supplements regularly, so I didn't notice any difference.
