Sat Feb 25 1 hour walk around neighborhood

Trumpet Vine bushes are in bloom now...

Hibiscus in it's glory... pretty

California (or Corn Poppies) grow like weeds here...I should plant some in my planters...

Succulents and Red Geraniums in a bed by the sidewalk...

Cheery yellow flowering bushes...

Halfway down a wash to get a pic of this Mourning Dove...

Orange sunrise light on the trees...(yes I was out "late" )

Pretty new plantings...many of the palms have been trimmed like this..they look like big pineapples...

this is a hummingbird with a ruby throat...I was lucky to get this close to him and then I zoomed it, not very clear pic when I do that...

Cactus in bloom in center divide on this street...

Another pic of the yellow blooms...

This was my destination for my walk and why I was out after sunrise...last week this tree was full of blossoms...wind and rain knocked most of them off...

There were some left but not the white cloud of bloom it was last week...

Someone has a big thriving garden already! Nasturtiums and squash or something like that...

I don't know what these purple flowers are but they are pretty...

Sun Mar 5 - 30 min walk this AM around the neighborhood

Before sunrise...

Palms in the distance...

This palm almost looks like dark fireworks...

I thought these were geraniums but can't tell now...

Sunrise at a nearby park...

Darn woodpeckers! Put a hole clear thru this saguaro...

House with a sundeck...

Here comes the sun...

Lots of little pine cones on these trees...

Close up...

Big nest! The builder found a good branch for support...

Very colorful sunrise...

this lemon tree near me recently got a big trim...the landscapers left a box full of lemons on their lawn, but there wasn't a sign offering them - disappointed! I grab them if I see some rolled onto the sidewalk...

colorful lantana...

Birdie was singing his heart out to me on my way home...

Sunrise over a cul de sac...

I think this is gardenia...

Unusal flowers on this thin spiny cactus...they are red

I know this as a poker plant...

Not sure what these are but very pretty...

This almost looks like cactus fruit, but not sure...

Sky at sunrise...

Bottlebrush plant in front of a glorious bougainvillea...

Office building in downtown Phoenix with a big sun decoration...

Community garden...

another garden shot...

Sculpture of a Phoenix...

Big yellow poker plant...

Making an entry for Sun Apr 30
I went to see the Butterfly Exhibit at the Botanical Gardens - pix posted in my J - here are the rest of the pics from my walking the trails before the Exhibit opened. It was something like an hour? walk or more...don't remember now.

Beautiful Glass Sculptures as you drive up the the Gardens...

A Quail sitting on a post on the walk way in...

Cactus in bloom...

More cactus...not sure what they are...

Many in bloom...

Pretty yellow flower...

A view of Papago State Park

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Papago_Park

Flowers...

This unusual cactus reminds me of a pine tree...

More flowers....

Beautiful bloom on a tree...

Very pleasant trails here...

The buds on these cactus plants were so pretty, like rosebuds...

Shady spot to sit and wait for the Butterflies to be ready!

Another view of the Papago Park...

And a few pics of the butterlies! It was very magical in there...

Making an entry for a walk I didn't log for Sun May 21:
That fountain with bunny garden statues:

Someone's pretty garden:

Frilly top of flowering tree...pretty flowers...

Bright Opuntia cactus buds...

My continued fascination with palm trees...

Here comes that unrelenting sun...

Beautiful bright cannas by a front entryway...

I never tire of photographing the pretty colors in J's front yard...

I am so proud of that big sunflower in the mix of the smaller ones I planted...

Dear neglected gym log...
no more Fitball as of Jul 7 - my last day at the day job sitting on a borrowed one. Tues - Thur that week I was up front where I couldn't sit on it anyway.

Went for a 20 min walk around the neighborhood.
Another sunrise in the 'hood...

More pretty orange flowers that grow so well in the hot climate...

Cactus with fruit on top...

Interesting cloud cover...

One of the neighbor's ferals hanging out in J's front yard...

Default Thur Jul 13

25 min walk in an industrial area across town... (posting pix 7/17/18!!)

I call these woman-trees... they've been trimmed and cut and the result looks like a woman's body to me...

Came across a wedding venue:

View of the desert...

A whole lotta nuthin' going on...

Vast.... mountains in the distance....

I liked how the palm trees were reflected in the windows in this office building...

A wavy-armed tree growing up out of a pretty oleander bush...

This poor fountain needs some lime/hard water clean up...

Sunrise across the street...

Decorative planters at the entrance to the party venue...

The grand entrance....

A back corner of the property...

The venue house with lions, a cannon to the side you can't see here, and a turret...

I got a kick out of the frog fountain...

More frogs...

Dear neglected gym log: I am frenzy cleaning for J's visit on the 9th and start a 2nd job with cray cray hours on the 21st. I have 28 hours of a physical job at the library that leaves me sore - so I will bid you adieu until something gives or I move!!! My 2nd job goes from Aug 21 - Dec 21, on my feet all day there. If I can squeeze in something I will post it - but until I get the H3#& out of Dodge, things will be sporadic here. Still have daydreams of posting my walking pics...nice to dream
