My understanding is that you can be "in ketoisis" an not lose weight. I can give you a concrete example; Me in June 2017. You can review the data below. My self prescribed "in ketoisis" level is 55 minimum on my Ketonix breath meter. I gained about 6 lbs in June and had a good, ketonix, time doing it
Since "dieting" is a painful subject for you perhaps you should avoid it and just pick your best guess at a way of eating that "should" work for you and do it for a year and see what happens. This way you'll not have to think much - thinking can cause pain - especially thinking about the past and future. You might be surprised at the result and what you might learn about yourself!
