Default I need help with vitamins

Hi! I'm new here and I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm taking a multivitamin that contains:

Vitamin A 3500 I.U.
Vitamin C 60 mg
Vitamin D 400 I.U.
Vitamin E 30 I.U.
Vitamin K 25 mcg
Thiamin (Vit B1) 1.5 mg
Riboflavin (Vit B2) 1.7 mg
Niacin 20 mg
Vitamin B6 2 mg
Folic Acid 400 mcg
Vitamin B12 6 mcg
Biotin 30 mcg
Pantothenic Acid 10 mg
Calcium 162 mg
Iron 18 mg
Phosphorus 109 mg
Iodine 150 mcg
Magnesium 100 mg
Zinc 15 mg
Selenium 20 mcg
Copper 2 mg
Manganese 2 mg
Chromium 120 mcg
Molybdenum 75 mcg
Chloride 72 mg
Potassium 80 mg
Boron 150 mcg
Nickel 5 mcg
Silicon 2 mg
Tin 10 mcg
Vanadium 10 mcg
Lutein 250 mcg
Lycopene 300 mcg

Is this all I need to be taking? If not, what should I be taking? I've read that I should be taking chromium picolinate, pottasium, l-carnintine, and COQ10 but I have no idea if I am or how much in addition to what I'm already taking. I bought a 400 mcg chromium picolinate supplement that also contains 30 mg of calcium and a 99 mg pottasium supplement. Since my multi-vitamin already contains some of these two, would taking these be too much? I don't want to OD on vitamins..lol! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Atkins' latest book gives you a complete run-down on recommended supplements. I'd start there.

I can't believe you typed all that out!!! You're hands must be tired.

WIth that said, I wouldn't be concerned about adding a few mg here or there of a vitamin as most vitamins will be peed out in excess. If you are concerned about a particular one, look it up on the web for information on excessive amounts for that particular one.

I personally take l-carnatine, coq10, and chromium. There have preliminary studies suggesting that these pills aid in speeding up the metabolism. However, the FDA doesn't feel there is suffiencient evidence to approve them and doesn't regulate them. They won't hurt you to try them (no you aren't taking them in your multivitamin), but be forewarned....they are expensive (chromium isn't).

One that Atkins recommends for an appetite suppressant is l-glutamine. That may help if you find yourself with raging cravings.

Hope this helps.
