Default can we have reward thingies?

Sorry for the use of the over technical word "thingie" here. Anyway, I was just browsing another website for low carb users, (forget what it was called, didn't bookmark it either) but it was a BB system similar to this.

Anyway, their members got "member of 20lb club" banners in their signature or 30 lb, or 50 lb or whatever when they reached a goal. I don't know if everyone would even want this, but I think it would be nice, sort of a reward akin to the whoosh fairy, you know?

Certainly doable. Would it better be number of lbs or percentage towards goal? I might win the competition with a 120 lbs loss, but I'm not at goal yet!

I'd like to do something similar for top posters as well, in recognition of how active they are in helping out other members on the forum. Can you beleive that half the members, never posted anything to the forum!

I like the idea ... perhaps % towads goal would be most fair ... a petite woman has to struggle just as hard to lose 25% of her 25lb goal .. or 5 lbs ...... as does a tall man who works to lose 20 lbs toward his 100 lb goal .. also 25%.

Then there's folks like me who've been sitting near the 50% mark forever ..

O.K. I've added a star system for active posters

10 posts = 1 star
50 posts = 2 stars
100 posts = 3 stars
500 posts = 4 stars
1000 posts = 5 stars
2000 posts = 5 RED stars
3000 posts = 6 RED stars

---------

Stay tuned for the weight-loss progress thingy, shouldn't be long

Default Back at school !

Wondered about the stars when I logged on this morning!

Reminds me of my primary school teacher. We used to have a huge board with everyone's names and the stars they had earned during the term.

Why do I feel I am in competition?
Take care

I like the stars and the fact that the weight and program are under the user's name. It helps when you read people's posts.... I think it will help me remember peoples names more!!

Good job Wa'il!

Yes the weight and program is a definite aid in other member's posts (to quickly and easily see what their perspective is) and my own post to see the progress I have made so far.

That was a very good idea and very speedily put into practice.

{Wa'il: Can you believe that half the members, never posted anything to the forum! } No ... seems incredible ... I can't seem to stop myself But then perhaps they are too busy reading

Take care.

Talking LOL Wendy

Oh Wendy you just reminded me of a time in my life when "thingumyjig" was my favourite word. It used to be the second or third word in every sentence I uttered !

I used to get teased about its use ...
Take care
