Default Cheesecake question

I know I'm not supposed to post this here, sorry, it's just because this is a real emergency and I can't wait a few days for someone to discover my question in the recipe rooms.

Besides, this must be the stupidest question anybody ever asked about cheesecake... but I REALLY DON'T KNOW!

So: I made this lovely NY Cheesecake with nuts, as Karen posted it. Turned out really well too, at least from the smell of it (haven't tasted it yet... it's for a get-together with friends). BUT: Which side is up? Are the nuts the bottom or the top part?

*blushes*

I truly don't know. Never made or saw a cheesecake before, that's the truth!

The sugar free raspberry syrup is good on it, as well as the cherry...

Congratulations on your first cheesecake! Make sure you chill it befor cutting it.

Yep! The nut crust is on the bottom. But, there'ss no reason you couldn't serve it the other way around.

Hey Karen -

the big time is almost there. I turned it around, and luckily it didn't stick to the plate (I had it in the fridge overnight, after I read the thread about it in the kitchen forum - wanted to make sure it'd be firm and perfect, not runny at all). To top it, I just shredded frozen blueberries. Can't wait to see what my friends will say about it!

It was a very easy-to-do recipe, though (except for the upside-down confusion, which is probably a problem NOBODY else will ever have... but, see, I'm Austrian and we just don't do cheesecakes). Thanks so much for it - I'll give you feedback as soon as we've tried it tonight!

Okay, we ate the cheesecake yesterday night... and the verdict was that there's only one word for it...

PERFECT!
Thanks again Karen!
