Smile Hi ya'll!

Just wanted to jump in and say "hi"! I'm new here, but not to LC. I've been following Atkins since April and so far have lost 49 lbs. I haven't cheated until this past week and I desperately need to get back on the program. I'm having an exercise problem too in that I just can't get myself moving. Should I redo induction for a jump start? Thanks for the help!

Welcome to lowcarb.ca Cindy!

This happens to everyone so don't be hard on yourself. Starting again with induction is a great idea to get you jump started again.

Hey there Cindy!

Congrats on the 49 pounds lost so far! That is awesome! So you got off the plan for a week, no big deal. Just get right back on the horse, so to speak. Everyone is right, you need to go back to induction and eat less than 20 carbs a day.

You've made some excellent progress so far, and I'm sure you'll do great in the future. Just do everything you've been doing so far, just on induction levels for a while.

Happy low-carbing and here's to feeling great!!

Thanks everyone. I did start back on induction today, water and everything and so far, I feel great. Guess I just let myself slack off a bit but will trudge along and get these other 111 lbs off. Funny how sometimes we think food is the answer to everything

Here's to a no cheat week!

Way to go Cindy! You're right, that's how I used to think too. On all of those low-calories diets I've been on in the past, food was all I could think about. Now, after 30 days of being strictly low-carb, I hardly think about food at all. I often forget to eat too because I'm never hungry. It's funny how much food used to totally control us...and now it's our turn to have control. I just wish I had found this WOL a lot sooner!

Good luck to you!

OK, this is getting depressing. Back on induction for 3 days and I've gained 1.5 lbs! This bouncing up and down 5 lbs has been going on for a month. Guess I've finally hit a stall.

Plateaus are actaully necessary "evils". They give your body and mind time to adjust and regroup. Your body knows best!

Why don't you keep a Journal in the Journal Forum? There could be some tweaking you could do to get you started again.

Thanks, Karen. I'll have to look into keeping a journal. I have been keeping track of my food intake at Fitday which has helped. Thanks again for the info.

God bless,
CindyH

Default The ups and downs

I know how you feel, I have to lose lots and the last thing I want to see is my weight going up and down, while on this diet. I have found one thing that might help. I found I have to drink 4 liters of water and that makes me lose. If I drink only 2 I gain.. its weird.
Also I increased my protein/fat and I started to lose. Thanks Karen for your advice!
