Smile hello

Hello, my name is Abka and I am 20 years old and a senior in college. Three months ago, as a result of a drop in body ph level and an allergic reaction to IBprofen, I developed a nasty bacterial infection. Apparently this type of bacterium thrives on, you guessed it, sugar. So now I've been advised to stay away from sugar and most carbohydrates at all costs, lest I want a relapse. I also show many of the begining signs of diabetes, so I'm hoping this low-carb diet will help with that. I'm not really here for weight loss, but I'd be glad to give my support for those who are.

Hello Abka and welcome to lo-carbing!

A lot of people are into this WOL for reasons other than weight loss. To become healthier, to feel better, to help with mood swings, depression and the like. (and there's many many more) I would have started this a long time ago myself if I had known about all of these other benefits.

Good luck to you! Lots of knowledgable and friendly people around here if you ever have any questions or concerns.

Raven
