Default Post vacation withdrawals

I just got back last Thursday from a little more than a week in Mexico. I ate fairly well while I was there, with the exception of fresh tortilla chips most days and, of course, the drinks. We stayed at an all inclusive and instead of having my usual Bacardi and diet soda I decided to have the nice fruity refreshing drinks they offered. I had at least 1-2 every day. Of course, these drinks are FULL of sugar! I have had a headache nearly every day since being home, and I just realised that it is most likely sugar withdrawals. UGH!! I do not remember having these headaches during induction, but of course that was nearly 4 years ago now.. I have been trying to drink as much water as possible to help, and finally took some Tylenol a bit ago. Any other suggestions for making it through this?

On the good side, I have managed to jump right back on the wagon since being home and have not had any sugary stuff or any more tortilla chips

Robin

Hi Robin-
good for you getting right back on plan. It sounds like you just have to get through the first few days of the headache and then it will be over! Lots of people who get off sugar totally talk about this kind of headache. I still eat sugar, but if I have too much sweet stuff I feel like I have a hangover the next day.
