I would consider joining this thread but so far my highest day was 1700 steps -- and I could barely move after that. I think I may be too outclassed by all you walking wonders. :-)

Do you guys count every step ever (like wear a pedometer all the time or something?) or only those done specifically for exercise?

Jump in, rightnow! Just log what you do, everybody starts somewhere, and some of us have been doing this for years. See whether logging your steps nudges you to do more. I wear my pedometer all day, so it logs even wandering around the house, as well as my "proper" walks.

I agree. Jump right in (or walk right in). It's about personal motivation not competition. I have a FitBit that I wear all day so some of my steps come from just walking around the house but most come from dedicated walking outside.
