Always a salad involved along with a protein: Possible appetizers are crab legs in butter, oysters on half shell, shrimp cocktail, cheese tray and veg tray, then a turkey or rib roast, asparagus and cauliflower casserole, and some decadent chocolate for dessert.

I've always wanted to try cooking lamb, particularly lamb shoulder since it has a decent amount of fat.

It's not my lamb, it's their recipe, I'm eating with some Greek folks. I know one thing they do is cut little holes in the lamb and stuff garlic gloves inside them.

That sounds really yummy. It's really hard to find the kind of lamb I'm looking for but I recently found out abut a specialty butcher near me so I need to go check them out. They have every kind of meat you can imagine, apparently.

We changed our mind and bought beef skirt, cooked now for 24 hours on the wood burner, very slowly with a bottle of red wine in it, a bulb of garlic and some red onions...served with buttery mashed sweet potato....the smell is currently driving us nuts!!
