Cool Travelling to Germany

I am going to Germany for Spring Break and I am worried about the food there. I am a Vegetarian on Atkins. My grandma is cooking breakfast and dinner so hopefully I can get her to cook a lot of eggs and cheese, but I'm worried about lunch when we will be eating out every day. Does anyone have any ideas of what I could eat there? Danke!

Don't you worry! I live here and as you can see I've been doing this for over one year. We have wonderful vegetables here that you can have and most restaurants accomodate.
Is it just meat you don't eat? In other case - there is always fish to get the protein from.

I know you'll do great!

Alina is right. I was there for Thanksgiving and I did great. As a matter of fact, I lost 4 pounds while there for a that long weekend.

Lily...Have fun!

Germany has a lot of food options - and normally some very good salads. Vegetarian restaurants can be found (there is a fantastic one near Dusseldorf I can highly recommend), but still my vegetarian friend does find it challenging at times. If you eat fish, things will be a lot easier on you.

Don't forget the flight - take some snacks along with you, just in case.

Bremerhaven oder Bremen: kleine Krabben mit Butter auf Schwartzbrot.
Luebeck oder Hamburg: Matjesfillet oder Lamm mit Butter auf Schwartzbrot.

Neither of which are suitable for a Vegetarian on Atkins.

Their loss... Besides some variations of vegetarians eat seafood, from what I understand.

Then I'll amend my suggestions:
Koeln: Koelsch!
Kloster Andechs: Dunkelbier!

I know vegetarians drink beer!! Atkins may not approve, but Lutz does!!
