My nearest Trader Joe's is 220 miles away! Gas charges would "eat up" whatever I might save in butter costs, , not to mention all those hours on road.

I admit I don't really like plain butter myself. But a slice of good cheddar cheese topped with a slice of butter? Yum, now *that's* a snack.

I normally like anything that is TJ's own brand. I guess I liked the Kirkland sweet cream salted butter so much that TJ's kind didn't taste right to me :-/

I will look for it next time I'm at TJ's. Maybe I'm just missing out on something so good I don't know about yet. Kind of the way I feel about grocery store ground beef now that I've had the kind I got from the farm.

No, it's costco's brand :-)

When you say "beef from the farm," is it grass-fed specifically?

Although I can't afford it on a regular basis, I'd like to see what grass-fed beef tastes like. I'll have to do some research to see who supplies it in WA state.

Well, I got really hungry tonight, and decided to try a piece of butter. It was about the size of a pat that you would get served in a restaurant. I had that, and then I had another.

I was hoping that it might have helped satiate my appetite but so far, I'm still pretty hungry.

Thanks for the links!

It seems like you have to order a LOT of meat from the one in Enumclaw, as well as Auburn. Whole foods might have grassfed, so I'll check them out when I have time.

Whole Foods does have some grass fed beef. They just are less likely to have the fattier cuts.

Sometimes food co-ops have grass fed beef.

I would buy from the farm in Enumclaw, it's just that you have to buy massive amounts.

When oh when will the day come where I can just walk into a safeway and be able to buy grass-fed? Lol.

We had a chain of stores here called Genuardi's... they were a family owned chain, and a pretty good store. Great customer service, and good quality stuff, good selection. That was before Safeway bought the stores and they went down the toilet. Safeway is now selling the stores that they haven't already driven out of business to Giant Food Stores.
