Smile On my way Down

I started dieting April 17th. My goal is to reach 115# before Christmas. Don't know if I can, but I think I'm off to a good start. 14 # lost to date.

I am now 65 years old and the weight is harder to take off from my younger years.

But will keep going until I can get back down to 115.

Congrats on your weight loss so far, you are off to a great start-- That amount of weight lost in 2 weeks doesnt seem slow at all!

If your current weight in your profile is correct (239) am sure you have already done the math to know that you would have to lose around 15 pounds or more each month to be 115 by Christmas, which could be, IMO, unrealistically fast, especially as you drop weight, since weight loss usually slows down the smaller you get. So dont let it discourage you if it doesnt happen that fast-- Christmas will come and go regardless, so any amount lighter by Christmas than you are now, (and any degree fitter) is positive progress.

Thanks for all the encouragement everyone! The gym is working out ok, there is a lot of diversity there, some young and fit to the hilt, some old and some my age. Perhaps because the gym is in a community center there is a mix of ages.

The treadmill is going slow, haven't gone above 2 mph. I try to stay on for at least 40 minutes, or until the knees start hurting. Slow goes it!

Going out to do some more planting, have a good day everyone!

Good news this morning, now down to 225. Started at 245 on April 17th. I think a lot of the loss is because I started so heavy. But the gym does help. Staying busy in the yard is also a bonus. I haven't gone over 2.1 mph on the treadmill, but I hope using it everyday it will get better. Have a good day everyone!

Default Still on my way down!

Thanks newlcer

Still on my way down, as of today I've lost 33 #'s. Started April 17th. The gym is helping, can't seem to stay on the treadmill for more than 45 minutes though. The knees just can't take it. I go every day and dread getting on that machine every morning!

Didn't gain all this weight overnight and won't lose it overnight either. Patience is the key.

I've stayed with the plan, I'm running out of new recipes to break up the monotony of eating the same thing over and over.

Seems like your on your way down as well. Good Job!

Another goal met today. The scale finally read under 200 pounds. Seems like it took forever to get to 199. Total loss is 46 pounds since April 17th. I just might make my overall goal by Christmas. But if I don't if feels good to keep losing all this weight. I started adding vegetables after being on the "Quick Weight Loss Diet" after a month and a half. I seem to be doing well with it. The water is killing me though, 88 oz a day keeps me in the bathroom all day long and haven't slept through the night without getting up at least twice to go.

The treadmill is still my daily workout for 45 minutes a day! Knees can't take much more. Hopefully that will change when more weight comes off.

The best part of all is that my clothes are way too big now!

Hi ckhof~ I just happened onto this thread and read about your crazy-good weight-loss in just 6 weeks, and wondering how it's going? I lost 20 in my first 6 weeks. Trying not to feel jealous, lol.

Hi m0mlette,
It's going good, as of this morning weight loss is 56 pounds. Still going to the gym almost every day, (only the treadmill though), and sticking only to protein and vegetables and of course the dreaded 88 oz of water a day.

20 pounds loss in 6 weeks is great! Keep up the good work!
