Lightbulb  light bulb moment

I just realized today that for the 1st time in my life I went an entire week without a cracker or a piece of bread!!! This is so amazing, but I'm so afraid this euphoria I'm feeling is going to vanish and I'll fail like I have so many times before. Did any of you feel at the beginning that this is just to good to be true?

To good to be true? I know that feeling. The first time I weighed myself after starting the diet. Lost 10lbs in one week. Must have weighed myself 5 times that morning. TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!
I LOVE this way of eating!

Let's see if I can remember way back to Feb 2000 ---

hee hee - it was GREAT. I kept thinking my scale was broken. Every time I turned down an illegal food item, I was so proud. It got easier each time too.

But I do remember the occasional fear of *gee when is the other shoe going to drop?* - and *this is too good, so when does it get "bad" ?* Well, those were phantom fears - it never got bad, just better.

If I HAD to pick something bad about this WOE, it would be this:

Once you reach goal, you no longer get that *thrill* of looking at the scale and saying WOW, down another 2 pounds So you have to find other things to celebrate.

Default I need a scale!

I started on 10/15, and already I have dropped almost one size in pants. I was wearing a 26, and now I can almost wear the 24's again! AND - the 3X tops are fitting again, too!

I can't wait to go to the doctor next week so I can weigh myself.
(I NEVER thought I would hear myself say THAT!)

Debster:

Have you taken your measurements? More often than not, they are the more accurate measure of weight loss than the scales... and a tape measure is far more inexpensive
