Question CAD LC bread etc...

Has anyone tried the bread and pancake recipes at the back of the CAD book? The ones made with cottage cheese.... Are they good? Do they stall?

Thanks for any input!!

C.

Unhappy eggs and cottage cheese

well.....if ya want my opinion....... I would prefer to keep eating my cottage cheese seperate from my eggs.

The pancakes are a little difficult to cook. Be sure to follow the recipe exactly. It might take a time or two to get it just right.

Good luck!

I tried the bread tonight, it turned out okay. It was my first time making it, and I didn't have the right size pan, but nevertheless, it turned out okay.

I found that once I got it out of the oven, it went pretty flat, which is reasonable since there's no yeast or anything to make it rise like normal bread. I warmed up a couple of little pieces and had them with a teeny bit of butter tonight, it was pretty good...its almost the consistency of angel food cake.

I haven't tried the bread yet. Guess I will have to give it a good solid effort before I can give an opinion of it.

Try the pancakes Ivory and let us know how you do with them.

Don't want to be discouraging, but one of the reasons I change from Atkins is because, face it, bread and pancakes can never be made with anything else than flower. Why don't you wait and go to IHOP, or Waffle House for dinner one day and have the real thing? I don't like LC food that replaces flower with soy flower, Atkin's Bake Stuff, it is never the same.

Just beware of the IHOP omlets. There was a big thread about them a while back. They put pancake batter in their omlets in order to give them that nice fluffy appearance.
