Default Eatwell Plate and Sugar Free 70 on BBC

The UK dietary guidelines, embodied in the Eatwell Plate are discussed on the BBC Radio 4, with Drs Unwin and Malhotra.
Zoe Harcombe has already addressed the robustness of that "evidence" Public Health England Prof. Levy was claiming.

One of her articles from 2016, but her whole doctorate thesis is on this topic.

Imagine if all these government workers were fired and forced to contribute something positive to humanity instead, what we could accomplish.

Thanks for posting, Janet. Man, Zoe Harcombe is my kind of awesome.

Will be interesting to see how much of an impact this "Sugar free for 70" thing makes.

The hospital started this last summer for their staff and are now expanding it to patient meals and the community. Good results...

Quote:
As previously reported, Tameside Hospital has been playing its part to try to reduce the burden after becoming the very first hospital in the NHS to ditch sugary snacks and drinks from its restaurant following a staff weight loss Slimpod trial.

Snacks and sweets full of sugar have been swapped for healthier options and the only drinks available for staff and visitors are tea, coffee, milk and water.

Puddings have been off the menu since last summer and healthier food options containing no sugar and limited carbohydrates sell out as soon as they are served.
