Default stevia

I know that artificial sweeteners are something the Heller's recommend staying away from (and from my experience they do cause problems for me), but what about Stevia? It is a zero calorie sweetener but is all natural and not artificial. think it would be ok?

hi-
the research on AS and insulin is that for some (many?) people any AS still triggers insulin. Your body does not know it is not sugar.
Other than that it is a YMMV issue.
I don't use AS much.
WELCOME!

Doublejay you are correct...Stevia liquid is all natural,as long as you stay away from Truvia, and the powdered versions which use Rebiana, erithrytol and Maltodextrin as a bulking agent..I personally use NuNaturals clear liquid stevia in my tea and sweets..I am type 2 diabetic and monitor my blood sugars with a glucometer and the stevia does not seem to affect me at all..I would recommend getting a meter and testing yourself anytime you add a new food into your menu,to see the effect on your blood glucose levels!

Thanks Thomas,

I tried it yesterday and felt great! But I am going to keep a close eye on it just to make sure.

BTW, you look soooooooooooo much like my dad that I had to do a double-take when I saw your pic! Too cute!
