Question bottom line, is the new book worth it?

I have her first book and love it. Is the second book really necessary or are we getting into the Atkins mode of new book, only small amount new information?

I'll wait to buy it till I hear what you all think!!!

Angel,

I would say if you are cruising along just fine with the old book, and don't really care to know more of the details then you don't need the new book. If you are not making the progress you had hoped for, or you have questions about how it all should work for you, or wish for a better understanding of the theories behind it all, then the new book would be helpful. I'm sure glad that I bought it. Your decision, my 2 cents.

As an admitted 'diet/nutrition' book junkie -- I 'had to have it'. I got mine yesterday-- my mailman had delivered it to the neighbors who thank goodness are honest and the carrier was nice enough to bring it to my door and knock to say he was sorry! Anyway I finally recieved it.

For one who thinks that her books are some of the best of the genre as I do it was a must and I had a gift certificate! I find I have to do more serious reading of her books than many. By that I mean read over & over again on some points.

To answer your question I would give a predjudiced yes vote.

Side note; I see Atkin's is coming out with a book on 'controlled carbs'

I recommend it. I am in the How To section, which is much larger than in the first book. The beginning is Why To and it explains a lot that I didn't get in the first book.

More than anything, it has explained to me why I have not had some of the same problems as others have (mostly sugar cravings). And also it has given me some information that I can use to help others on the forum.

Exclamation New Book??

I've read both the old and new books. Personnally, I was disappointed with the new one. The first one was great and I didn't feel that the new one added much. JMHO. Nancy

I find the book very worth while. It's focus is on getting us to recognize the effects of how Adrenaline, Insulin, and Cortisol effect our bodies in different ways and how to heal our adrenal glands as well as the insulin resistance. It adds a great deal and explains why eating too much protein isn't good for you. Her approach is the not stress the body and get it healed in the safest way possible. The reader has to become very proactive in their own health care to make it work. In other words, see a doctor and get lab work done.
