Default It was only 2 strawberries?! On maintenance?!

I ate my normal breakfast this morning, which usually keeps me full until lunchtime. 2 hours after breakfast, someone at work offered me 2 strawberries which I took because I haven't eaten sweet fruit in months and besides, strawberries are a good lc fruit anyway, right? So I eat the 2 strawberries and as soon as I taste them I have cravings for cake, candy, etc. that I haven't craved in 6 months! Luckily, my almond stash was handy so I scarfed some of those to quell the hungry feeling!

No more sweet fruit for me! Even on maintainence!

Anybody else have this happen? I never would have thought a bit of fruit could affect me that way!

Interesting about the peanut butter as my response to it is satiety, full for hours A friend of mine who is also follows a paleo WOE has told me that peanut butter is a binge food for him, it definately affects some folks that way! Oh well, the thing to do is find out what affects you that way and just don't eat it! No sweet fruit for Matthew

I'm the same way. Any nut butter other than peanut I'm fine with. Something about peanut butter makes me wanna eat the whole jar. But strangely I find almond butter so much more delicious than peanut butter. I'm just glad it's not the other way around lol.

Strawberries are one of THE triggers for me.

Other berries I'm good to go.

So know, this doesn't sound weird at all. You've just identified a trigger food for you. Now going forward if you consider partaking....you go in with full disclosure.

Progress not perfection.

Thanks, Lisa, good to know, so maybe it won't hurt to try some other sweet fruits soon, then.

for me there is a HUGE difference in how I feel if I have sugar (or sweet carbs of any kind) alone vs with protein/veggies. I can eat fruit with a meal, but on it's own - not. Great you figured this out so fast!

Last month, I went to a friend's house for brunch (my fajita frittata was the star of the meal), and my friend served a berry compote (including strawberries) after asking me beforehand what fruit I ate. I indulged, eating 2–3 times the amount of berries I usually eat daily, which is 1/3 C. I think that because of the social setting, and the filling nature of the main course, I was OK afterwards.

I think that if I'd eaten that much at home, just as a "snack," I wouldn't have stopped there.

Believe me, I do the same thing with fruit. Like when I'm in denial and think I can eat blueberries. Next day, it was a Hershey bar. No lie.

I'm late to the party, but wanted to add that I can eat any kind of fruit (haven't tried bananas yet) in moderation ~ except CHERRIES. They do to me what the strawberries did to you. I won't eat them. Even when they are on sale for $2/lb and I buy them for my dh because that's his fave fruit.

I've since eaten fruit several times immediately after a meal and had no problems, it seems to be fine as long I only eat fruit on a full stomach, which makes since

Terri, cherries are SOOOO tasty, it's a shame you can't eat them without issues

Brinethery, the mere mention of "chocolate bar" brings back so many wonderful memories, I once sooooo adored candy bars
