Default A weighty reality check

Have just posted this LA Times article, A weighty reality check over in the media forum, but thought that it would also be a good idea to provide a link to it from here as well as it also relates to maintenance:

I think this sums it up for me:

My secret? There is no secret. It's hard work, a lifelong commitment to health.
It's something that I'm often asked, 'what's your secret?' and like Kathy Price-Robinson, I would have to say that there is no secret. I just work bloody hard at it too!

Here's what I wish I could tell Oprah: Just because you reach a goal weight and look and feel gorgeous, that doesn't mean you can start eating like a normal person. You are probably not a normal person. Your body probably does not react like a normal person's to sugar and starches (and maybe not salt and fat either).
IMO, Once you've realised and come to terms with that fact, then that's half the battle won!
