Unhappy Nausea and headaches after starting

Hello everyone. I am new here and have been trying to do the Atkins Induction since 5/5/03. The first few days were really miserable. I had bought some of the Atkins bars and the shake mix to use as meal replacements when on the run. They tasted terrible and I got headaches and was really feeling nauseated. Could it be that I am not used to sucralose? It has a weird taste, so I quit using them. However, I have been feeling better and though I haven't dropped much weight, my clothes are starting to fit better. Is this normal? Thank you.

A lot of people go through carb withdrawl, where they feel very bad from anywhere from one to several days. It may have been this over the Atkin's bars. Easy enough to check, after a while you can test the bars again. But sorry the taste will still be the same

IF you clothes are starting to feel better, then you may be losing inches over pounds! This is very normal.

I agree the yucky feling was most likely carb withdrawal.

It is better to not use the bars and shakes in induction but just stick to the listed foods. Reason being that for some people those products slow down or stall weight loss.

It is also common for the scales to not budge but for measurements to change...all a good sign that you are losing size

I also felt sick, struggled with headaches and was just flat out exhausted well into my second week. It just makes me appreciate what a hold carbs had on me. Almost completed four weeks and I am feeling MUCH better. I'm down 10 pounds and my clothes are not quite so tight - Yeah.

Hang in there, the side effects of withdrawal will go away!
