Smile OK Here goes one more try

I like alot of you started Atkins at the first of the year, did well for first two weeks and then had an attack of cheating for the past 2 weeks and now here I sit all blah and fat still.

I;ve been reading this forum for a little while tonight and feel like I want to start CAD with you all. I have the lifetime book. I will read it again to refresh the old memory.

Any support or whatever will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Vicki

Unhappy I apologize

I'm sorry. My last post sounded like I don't know how to talk or walk or say my name or what.
It must be the fat talking.
Anyway, I am starting over once again. I will be 40 in 2 weeks time and I no longer want to be fat. Help me please!!!!!!!

Welcome, Vicki. I think you've made a great decision. I really like CAD. and it's so easy for me to do.

I'm not a fast loser and the Heller's don't promise it to be a quick fix, but I've lost something every week. I started almost 6 weeks ago.

I think you'll like it and that little bit of freedom at RM makes it so liveable.

It's been pretty quiet in this forum the last couple of days, but I'm sure others will be around to welcome you as well.

Good Luck,
Deb

Hiya Vicky

welcome to the forum - like Deb said its been a little quiet around here of late - I put my hand up now and say I've not been around - but I have been ill - so have an excuse.

I find CAD works the best for me out of them all - but I have to admit sometimes balancing the RM has not been one of my priorities and it should be.

I hope you get on well with this WOE and that we'll see you around more.

byeeeee

Yes Vicki,

Welcome! I am an Atkins convert also. I really love the CAD/CALP so much more, though. I think you will too.

Welcome Vicky,

The more the merrier, more imput and support. Yes I agree
I also find CAD is easier to do and likeTigra wrote, the rm
is the meal I get the most difficulty with sometimes, so I also
have to work on not going overboard with it.

I am considering changing to the Atkin, becasue I have not been having good results at all. In the first week I lost 3.5, nothing in the second. And I was realy good.

I said I would give myself 3 weeks, but I am not sure if it is worth waiting.

Anyone got any thoughts on the subject.

Give yourself the three weeks!! Losing weight is not a quick process!

Are you weighing daily and averaging your weight?

My vote would be to give it a little longer than the three weeks. The Hellers did not promise this to be a quick weight loss only that it should be fairly steady at a rate of 1/2 - 2 lbs. per week. At two weeks your range of loss would be from 1- 4 pounds. You have lost 31/2. You are well within the promised range.

I think you definately need to do what you are comfortable with, but if this is liveable for you and you enjoy the freedom at the RM, I think you're doing very well.

Good luck whatever you decide.

Deb

Smile Thankyou

Thank you all for the words of encouragement.. I didn't exactly start today like I said I would. It was a school holiday and yesterday was my daughters 15th birthday, so I was bad and helped finish up the cake and pizza from last night. But tomorrow is another day and I will do it.

Yes, it is so hard, especially when you blow it! The next day you start out being "good" and then something throws you off. I am used to losing 4-5 lbs the first week of a diet, but then I have to remember that I am eating food that is not so satisfying, and tastes lousy! I look at Don Elliots results on Atkins and wish I could be like that. But I have to accept that that is not a WOE I can live with. CAD is. But only if it works. I need to get some weight off fast, for my hearts sake. But I have the determination of a catapiller when it comes to dieting. I need to keep on trucking. You guys really do help.

Cool my 2 cents...

I understand about wanting to get the weight off faster. I have had thoughts like that about how much weight I might have lost over the same amount of time, with WW or some other diet. Only one problem.. I NEVER would have stuck to it this long. And, if by chance I had... I would be so miserable right now. Missing all my favourite foods, instead of being able to enjoy them all. (And I do, just check my journal if you don't believe me!) I have been on CAD for 24 weeks and have lost about 52 lbs.. so a little better than 2 lbs a week. Not earth shattering, but steady and I am so happy with that. I don't crave food between meals, or carbs at times other than my reward meal.. that freedom is just as important to me as the weight loss, since food was always the primary focus of my life before CAD, whether I was eating massive quantities, or doing massive obsessing about the food my current diet wouldn't allow me to have.

I think it is important to focus on more than just the speed of weight loss. Think about how you feel on this plan, you will know if it is right for you or not. And imagine yourself still following it a year from now, 2 years.. can you really imagine doing that with other diets?

Tracy
