Default semi low carb and one carbohydrate meal a week

Hi all

I've lost 7 pounds since last week which is good. I am doing semi low carb. MOstly gluten free and keeping calories in check. I did low carb high fat before and didn't lose a pound.

I had one highish carb meal today with rice noodles. Will that stall my weight loss.

Not necessarily. See the "carbnite" thread in the semi low carb subforum, even some people on otherwise very low carbohydrate diets do some high carb days, but scheduled. That's probably safer than just doing a spontaneously higher carb day. I don't think even planned high carb days are for everybody, a lot of people can end up on multiple day binges or even of their plan altogether, but some people do seem to do just fine with it. Being on the best diet that you can sustain is more important than being on the best diet possible, since no diet can do you any good unless you're actually on it.

Only your body knows if this approach will stall your weightloss, only way to know for sure is to try and see, and remember to change tactics if it doesn't work or eventually stops working.

Thanks. I'll see how I go the next few days whether it's impacted or not. Being so new to this again makes it a bit confusing

Hi cazza36. I think you have to feel it out and see what works best for you. I'm glad you posted here. I wish there were more "semi-low" carb folks around. Sometimes I post certain things on the other forums and I get unwelcome comments. I am on a diet of 60 net grams carb per day, but also watch my fat a bit. My diet was prescribed by a dietitian. That works for me. Others can do what works for them.

Please let us know how it goes.

I'm on a similar plan. I have about 50-70 grams of carb a day and then on Saturday, I have what I want for lunch minus grains. Never any grains. I don't dare do the same on Sunday because that will set me back.

I did this years ago, intending to maintain, but didn't when life got in the way (again). This time, trying to find a way to eat that I can do for life.
