Default Atkin's Milk, Yogurts and Sauces!

Looks like yet more goodies in the New Year. Atkins has signed a deal with a Yorkshire based diary company to make Atkins branded low carb milk, yogurts and sauces, with a view to them being available in the New Year.

thats cool, they have done that here in the States. Guess there is a good following that Atkins is getting international brands to carry the trademark.

Thanks for this post. It will be interesting if they produce low carb milk and yoghurt at reasonable prices. So what is low carb cheese? It is already low carb!!

I'd look forward to the lc milk (to have in tea) I finally tried the carb options milk powder from waitrose and it's vile. Tastes nothing like milk and won't mix properly with water. Waste of money.

Default powdered milk type products

I find that none of those milk powders actually mixes in well particularly in hot liquid. So with the traditional milk powders I used to make a liquid concentrate (enough for the day) to add a very little to hot liquid.

I have invested in one of those small battery operated wire whisks (aero something - always call it aeroflot but that's the airline - but only a quid if you are in Ikea) for whisking in a cream based powder I have, and that is butch enough to work provided you don't mind the frothiness (its also great with real cream in coffee too). The bodium version is not quite as effective for the powder.

I suspect that one is just a money making thing. As you say, chesse is already low carb. They are going to be Atkin's branded, so I guess its about creating a brand, a bit like Weight Watchers .. which isn't such a bad thing, as long as its reasobaly priced.

Actually, there are some soft cheeses (for example some called "farmers cheeses" in N. Am.) and cheese spreads that are relatively high in carbs... in fact, if you read the fine print of the foods allowed during induction you will see that certain cheeses are not recomended for induction.... however, must "hard" cheeses are not in that category.

had another look and it's actually called "feeling good" as the brand name. apologies to Carb Options.
I think the milk frother is called an aerolatte. Aeroflot is what it'll be to me from now on, though
