hi-
hope everyone is doing great.

As some of you know, my DH had a very bad cancer situation about 5 years ago. Well, it's back and we are going to have to travel to see a specialist.

I've been on this site for almost 15 years, and on plan with CALP for even longer. I post to provide support, for my own accountability, and to learn new things and read interesting new research.

At this point in my journey, I don't know if I will be back. I won't be able to post while we are away, and I'm not sure if I will return to the site. It's been great for 15 years- and I will stay on CALP - but it may be time for me to move on.

So in case I'm not back, I wish you all the best in everything you do. Peace, joy, health and love-

E

Eno, so very sorry to hear about your husband. My prayers are with you both. Thank you so much for your faithful postings and support. I hope to see you back in the future, but certainly understand your need to focus on your DH and to probably move on. Blessings.

Eno, i'm so sorry, i'm really at a loss for words.

I will most definitely keep you, your husband and entire family in my thoughts and prayers.

You have been a shining light and such a great support to me & everyone who posts here on this forum & if you do decide to move on - it will be a big loss.
I will certainly miss you.
Thank you so much for all your great efforts over all these years.

Maybe it is best to protect your precious time and valuable energy under such trying circumstances for the time being.
I completely understand and am doing likewise...just taking each day, each hour as it comes.

Wishing you peace and strength to endure this difficult time. ♥♥♥

Just stopping in to say, if anyone has a question, will do my best to answer. For the most part, right now, my story is in my journal.

Thought, in case anyone is here, I'd share one of my favorite fun breakfast recipes. I make what I call green bean carbonara.

I use 1-2 slices of a cm bacon, cut into squares, crisp up in a non-stick pan, remove most of the grease, leaving enough to coat some canned green beans, which once they are heated nicely with the bacon, I pour a beaten egg over, and stir with a spatula until the egg is cooked and coating the green beans and bacon. Yummo!

Anyone else have a favorite breakfast cm to share?

That sounds like a really tasty one Patricia.
Green beans always need some kind of jazzing up i find.

My favourite recipe to have for breakfast these days is a low Carb green smoothie. I ♥ it.
Just spinach, avocado, flaxseed, almond milk, ice cubes, & the flavourings.
http://www.delightedmomma.com/2013/...n-smoothie.html

Something else I've tried recently was a kind of low Carb 'porridge'.
It may not be in keeping strictly with CAD/CALP but it was quick and easy.
2 TBSP. Oat bran and flax meal.
2 TBSP. Hemp seeds -unshelled
1 TSP. peanut butter
1 TSP. Coconut flakes.
1 TSP. Stevia.
(I also sprinkled a few dark chocolate chips into it)
To this i added hot water from the kettle & a splash of almond milk.

I seen that Ronda Rousey lady eats something like this for breakfast along with more carbohydrates.
Feel like i need the strength of Ronda these days.

I admit I've been inclined to skip breakfast (& Lunch) these days and my appetite for healthy meals is not what it should be.

maryh, the smoothie would not be my thing, but the porridge sounds good, except I know I'd want "more, more" of it

I find the smoothie wonder working for me. I don't use much avocado; 20g only.
I think its the leafy greens really helps & its the nearest i'm coming to a salad this weather.

As for the porridge; well it's quite dense. I don't tend to want to over-eat it but i suppose everyone is different.

Other than that i tend to go for just plain scrambled eggs when i can face them. I also tried protein shakes recently too (Not advised on the CAD),
Not sure how i feel about them really. I liked the novelty of them i suppose.

But i think i wouldn't have the same self awareness as you Patricia when it comes to foods that may be potential weaknesses.
That's what its all about really isn't it? To try to strengthen and guard against our weaknesses and to increase and add to our strengths.

Its a learning process, and I've been at calp with some off time, since about 1996 or 97 (!).
I haven't made these in awhile but I also find Scotch eggs to be a nummy (and very filling) breakfast. I just use my favorite recipe for breakfast sausage, make up a batch, and mold that around the hardboiled egg (lots of recipes on the net). Bake and enjoy!
I have to say, being able (4th day so far) to stick to my 12 hour eating window has taken care of me snacking in the evening, and is helping me feel back on track again.

Thats great. It never ceases to astonish me just how 'physical' it all is really.
I found that also when i tried IF, how it drastically increased how satisfying my actual main meal was as opposed to if i wasn't trying to do this.
It solves so many problems when your not having to fight against your biological make-up all the time.
It can get so all consuming.

In the past i would have probably just have come to the conclusion that i had no will power.

Hope everyone has a good week.

Wishing you a great week too Maryh.

The weather here is driving us all nuts! This past weekend was raining hard, but in the 60s, yesterday, it snowed (flurries) and stuck (then melted) 3 different times, but will hit 60 again tomorrow!

The poor nest building robins, and already on a batch of eggs mourning doves are annoyed, I think, as well!

Hello all and I am back with a new name. All the old stuff on my old computer (I was MLPMD56 I THINK!) is in the garage since we moved. I went on CAD in 2009. Got all the way down to 218, but now I am back up to 243. Very annoying. But I have NOT been faithful to the WOE and am now committed to sticking with it. I REALLY want to get below 200 pounds. What I don't understand is this: I went back on CAD yesterday. Of course I felt better all day and slept great. Continuing faithfully on CAD today and feel great. So WHAT IS MY PROBLEM?!?! Knowing that I lose weight, feel better, and sleep better when I stay on plan, what makes me fall off? Any insight is appreciated. I am sorry to hear about Eno's husband. I wish her the best. She was such a success and asset to this group. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts. Marcy
PS On the "addict's test" I only said no to one question. I am a SEVERE carb addict, and have family history of diabetes.
