Hi there,

You poor love, this is a very common issue amongst beginning, and sometimes continuing, low carbers.

My answer tends to always be pretty much the same. First of all, do not fall for the eat more fibre league. I know it helps some, but for way, way more of us it makes things worse.

Make sure you are drinking enough water . No need to go overboard, but enough to not be thirsty.

Fat. Eat lots and lots and lots of it. If I were constipated right now, the first thing I woukd do is make sure I had an increased amount of butter on my veg, fatty sauces on my meat: that sort of thing.

And if that didn't work - or you were doing that anyway - try taking magnesium.

I followed the magnesium advice and took a triple dose of my usual daily mag supplement and it worked!

Glad that worked. Ongoing be sure you are getting enough salt, that has much to do with water balance, including the water in bowels.
